Thanks to external funding, we are delighted to offer the above vacancies to support the expansion of our youth project, STREET.

STREET is a unique service which supports young people in Hartlepool who have additional needs, often with complex and multiple needs.

The STREET project is a befriending service held at the One77 facility on York Road. It is a safe social environment for individuals with additional needs and who have difficulties in interacting and socialising with others. The service is aimed at young people aged 6-19 years.

We aim to give young people the essential support and encouragement to help them overcome issues with social skills, self-esteem and emotional trauma. Everyone at STREET is understanding and supportive of each other’s situation.

The project currently operates on Monday, Thursday and Friday but will see it expanded to operate from Monday through to Saturday. Saturdays will have a special focus on families attending together.

The expanded service will specialise in creative technologies in our own newly refurbished media lounge and we are therefore especially interested in hearing from candidates who have experience and knowledge of media production, such as photography, videoing, music and editing.

The team will be supported by a range of highly experienced and specialist freelance creative professionals through the year.

We are very keen to hear from applicants who are experienced youth workers, ideally with young people with additional needs, who are dynamic and creative and can bring a fresh approach to youth work for our client group.

Internal candidates, ie those already employed or volunteering within Families First, are welcome to apply for these roles.
