Families First North East is growing and we’re looking for people who believe in joy, creativity, and compassion as powerful tools for changing lives.
Every day, our team supports children and young people with additional needs, learning disabilities, and autism to thrive, explore, and feel genuinely valued. From our vibrant afterschool club to our fun holiday provision, to meaningful 1‑to‑1 support out in the community, we create moments that matter.
If that sparks something in you, you might be exactly who we’re looking for.
Who We’re Looking For
We want someone who brings energy, imagination, and heart into everything they do. Someone who can spark laughter, build confidence, and help young people experience the world in ways that feel safe, empowering, and fun.
If you’re the kind of person who wants to make a real difference every single day, we’d love to meet you.
Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs is ideal - but above all, we’re looking for passion, positivity, and a willingness to learn.
A Very Important Requirement
This role involves transporting young people to activities, community sessions, and group outings.
You must hold a full UK driving licence for at least 2 years and be able to / confident driving a minibus (13‑seat and 17‑seat).
This is essential for the role and applications cannot be considered without it.
The Role
You’ll support a small number of specific young people across the week, so flexibility is key.
Working hours will include daytimes, evenings, and weekends.
Applicants must have the Right to Work in the UK, as we cannot provide Certificates of Sponsorship.
Training will be provided where needed - we simply ask for someone who learns quickly, shows initiative, and is eager to grow.
